Brustics and the West Coast

This garden creates a scene from Westland, depicting its timeless, natural and often wild beauty. Water is paramount in what has shaped the West Coast and this is a strong element in the design which incorporates waterfalls, cascades and lake margins. This pristine area of New Zealand is rich in geological history and provides inspirational products. The neighbouring retail garden showcases some of these products.

Lanzpec – The Party Garden

The Party Garden is the largest exhibition garden ever and an entertainers dream. With a deck floating on water, home theatre, and fire places surrounded by lush planting and sweeping lawns, this is an awe-inspiring exhibit.

Grow Pacific Kids Garden Party

Cabbage Patch Kids at Ellerslie

If you have kids, or you’re just a big kid at heart, the Cabbage Patch Kids entertainment garden is just the ticket. Link past with present with these adorable dolls from yesteryear, snugly nestled into the vegetable where it all started – the cabbage! Just be careful where you hide your wallet – children are guaranteed to want to take one of the dolls home for themselves.

Morning Fresh
Design: Norma de Lange
In line with the new range of Morning Fresh Aromatics Dish Washing Liquids being launched, this garden is designed to take the visitor on a sensory experience of fresh fragrance and vibrant colour. Green, orange and purple are a few of the distinctive colours reflecting the shades of the Aromatics range. Planting is soft and romantic, with a combination of grasses and old-fashioned perennials and roses.  Visitors are invited to crush the leaves of a number of the plants to release their scent.

Low Allergy Garden presented by Ellerslie Flower Show 
Low allergy gardening does not mean compromising on colour or style. Explore the winning student designs from the Low Allergy Garden Secondary Schools Competition presented by the Ellerslie Flower Show in this marquee.  Breathe easy as you learn how to have a green thumb without the red nose!

Renaissance Revisited

Inspired by the Renaissance gardens of Tuscany, this retreat invites the visitor to linger and enjoy the many visual pleasures it has to offer. The overall layout is formal and contains many classical elements such as beautiful mature topiary and magnificent crushed marble pots, wall fountains and statuary. This hortus conclusus is a timeless sanctuary and a private retreat from the pressures of life. If you need some rest and repair, this garden should be on your must-see list.

Twinings and Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind (RNZFB) Sense and SensibiliTea VIP Garden

This garden provides the ultimate sensory experience, with plants and flowers that vision-impaired people will be able to distinguish through their scent, shape and texture. There will also be sculptures, various pavings and ‘accessible’ signage in Braille and audio. And don’t forget to check out the highly-scented plants, many of which also feature in Twinings teas, which will be available at the Twinings Tea Stop, the ultimate spot to get passionate about tea.

Tower

Ellerslie Flower Show veteran and multi-award winner Nigel Cameron is a landscape designer who’s not afraid to take risks!  With the support of Tower Insurance, Nigel has created a garden that fuses iconic elements of New Zealand’s landscape together with an abstract, edgy composition that is at once both innovative and surrealist, yet firmly anchored in our local environment. A central feature of the design is a sculptural representation of Tower Insurance signature ‘lighthouse’ logo.

Manukau City Cultural Performance Garden
The Manukau City Cultural Performance Garden is an innovative, flexible performance space pushing the traditional boundaries of the standard public garden. With a focus on celebrating the arts and culture of Manukau City, the Cultural Performance Garden provides a unique venue to showcase local culture.
