In the groove at the Gardeners Sanctuary
The Gardeners Sanctuary will need to be seen to be believed. At 1500sqm, the endless beautiful flowers and plants on display will be heaven for gardening enthusiasts. Nancy Beck from New Zealand Professional Flower Growers says their group will have a distinct presence at the entrance to the marquee, showcasing gorgeous flowers grown by New Zealanders in a professionally designed 72sqm exhibit.
“Each day at the Gardeners Sanctuary may be different,” she says, “The flowers will change over the course of the week as they are replenished and renewed. It will give the public an opportunity to see the range of flowers available and what they can do with them,” she says. “When flowers are displayed en masse they look very different to separate cut stems from a florist.”
Nancy says the public will be able to view and take away new releases in flowers at the exhibit, as well as tried and true favourites in stunning colour palettes. Among the new flowers on display the public will be able to walk through will be the lustrous Red Dragon Bromeliad, grown exclusively in New Zealand. There will also be a diverse range of export cut flowers such as Lilies and Hydrangeas, characterised by unusual and vibrant colours.
Best in Show will also be a major presence at the Gardeners Sanctuary, a supreme award that carries with it the prestige of a commercial label that can be utilised by the grower when selling to garden centers. Best in Show will be judged by horticultural experts and is not to be missed. Alongside the Best in Show award there are also Gold and Silver medals being awarded.
And if you’re in the mood to shop and satisfy those green finger urges, there will be a huge array of different plants on sale to please every gardener’s cravings!
